Update January 2010: The SJBEP is actively involved in the Feasibility Study required for the dredging of Caño Martín Peña
Previous update: The dredging of the Martin Peña Channel is one of the most important and visible actions included in the CCMP. The SJBEP has been a key component throughout the decision making process, and an active participant in educational activities regarding this project.
The US Congress authorized in 2007 the amount of $125,000,000 for the dredging of the Martín Peña Channel and the PR Government will provides an additional $25,000,000 products of the latter PR Bonds emissions. The funds are to be managed by the public corporation Proyecto Enlace Caño Martín Peña.
