The SWMA created a Used Oil Program (UOP) with the collaboration of the EPA and the EQB. The main objective of the UOP is to educate and orient the public about the handling of used oil in Puerto Rico, as well as provide technical assistance to recollection centers. In addition, the EQB created a Manifest System to track the handling of used oil from its generation to its final disposal (see Attachment 46). The SWMA has recommended the EQB to increase the number of inspectors so that inspections throughout the municipalities of the Estuary occur more often. |
